WaterFiltrationDirect

Enjoy quality RO filtered water at your dispenser.
Usually and most properly specified for well water of known quality, the RU400T35 w/UV is a four-stage undercounter reverse osmosis system designed to filter the water at your sink of choice. The 5-micron pre-sediment filter serves to remove suspended matter, dirt, rust and sediment and improves performance of other filters. The GAC filters remove chlorine and other volatile organic compounds, improving taste, clarity and odor. The TFC membrane removes inorganics, minerals, total dissolved solids, lead and cysts (giardia and cryptosporidium). The additional UV module protects against bacterial, viral, E-coli, and other microorganisms and is tested 99% effective*. This unit produces up to 35 gallons per day and includes a 3.2 gallon storage tank.
*Meets or complies with NSF Standard 42, 58 and 55.

Proper Application: Reverse Osmosis on Common Well Water Water.
Make sure your well water is completely and independently tested and that a reverse osmosis system is right for you and your application. Unlike most municipally treated water supplies, well water may have contaminents not normally found in "city" water and therefore reverse osmosis may be applicable*.
If you are considering this unit on municipal water than you might be over specifying the product. One (1) of the carbon pre-filters in this unit exists to protect the RO membrane. This TFC membrane is designed for well water and is chlorine intolerant, therefore the pre-filter removes the chlorine in the tap water to protect the membrane and is not there to protect you. A wrong application you will get more filters and not better filtration...!
For most applications and for most people the UU250 drinking water filtration system is an excellent compliment to most city tap water or municipally-treated water systems. The EWS or CWL Series of whole home central water filtration systems are the best option for the entire home and for all uses. However, due to aggressive marketing, reverse osmosis may be a familiar term but is generally misunderstood as a filtration product.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) are a more aggressive form of filtration where water is pushed through a membrane to reject inorganic contaminents as well as naturally found calcium and magnesium minerals. The items that these systems reject are highly regulated through your municipal treated water and therefore the RO may be missapplied in many instances.
On municipal water, If you like a more stripped down or flatter tasting water this system may be for you. If you need the fluoride that is added to some municipal water removed due to allergic reactions this system may be for you.
RO is the way to remove the salts that softeners put in. Please be aware RO systems have been heavily marketed by softener salespeople and the industry and associations that support door-to-door sales. Ironically, the common reason for filtration is to improve taste and odor and yet without the carbon filters the RO system would not provide this expectation or the quality of this form of filtration. Considering RO systems waste water in order to produce water and they take up more valuable storage space and cost more to maintain it is our goal to provide information in order for you to choose the right system for you.
*Based on local water conditions and usage. Well water needs to completely and independently tested and submitted to EWS for proper product specification.
